Ms. Carr is a native Texan, raised in Dallas and then east Texas. She spent time in high school and college on the rodeo circuit, first barrel racing and then as a Justin Heeler or medic for the cowboys. Some people collect stamps or coins, but she likes to go to school for her hobby. Ms. Carr has an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts, a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine, Master's degrees in Youth Ministry, Pastoral Care and Education, and she has almost completed her Doctoral degree. She is the proud mom to Ursula and her son-in-love, David, who live in Ft. Worth. Ms. Carr is also a dog mom to two spoiled dogs named Stop and Go. In her down time, she likes to host dinner parties, garden, travel, play candy crush, and volunteer at her church. She has had the same group of best friends for the last 25 years and they are known as the Christmas cabin.
She decided to become a teacher because some of the people who made the biggest impact on her life were teachers. Mrs. Ring taught not only 3rd grade English, but the importance of being kind. Ms. Carlozzi taught her sophomore English and that she was responsible for her actions. Coach McCloskey taught AP US history and how to be a person of integrity. Dr. Stockman taught her sports medicine and that she could achieve more through hard work and determination. They impacted all phases of her life and helped her to understand that the life best lived is one in which you are helping others to achieve their full potential.
Mrs. Carr is honored to be part of the team at Greenbriar and looking forward to the school year.
